Controller Does Not Work

There are several things to try if your game device is either not being recognized in the game, or you are having problems while playing the game.  Below is a list of items to verify in order to ensure that your device is working properly.

Make sure that it is recognized by Windows and is calibrated.  Open your Windows Control Panel and locate the Game Controllers or Gaming Options icon. In here you can find the status of all connected gaming devices.   

Look for updated drivers for your device.  New drivers can be found at the device manufacturer's web site.  A list of manufacturers with links to their web sites can be found here.

Close background tasks:  Other programs might be causing a conflict.

Check the game's and manual and options menu.  Make sure that the game supports gamepads and joysticks and that the in-game settings are set appropriately through the Options menu.
