DirectX
Troubleshooting
If you are receiving errors that appear
to be DirectX related (Direct3D, DirectDraw, DirectSound, etc.) the following
tips should be helpful. It
is a good idea to follow these tips even if you are not experiencing any
immediate trouble.
Ensure that you have the
latest version of DirectX installed. Your
game will have included the version of DirectX that it needs to run. You
can also obtain the latest version of DirectX at http://www.microsoft.com/directx/.
Ensure that both your video
card and sound card drivers are up to date. Video
and sound drivers are available from your card manufacturer's web site.
A list
of manufacturers with links to their web sites can be found here. To
find out what type of card you have you can refer to the EA Help analysis
or open the DirectX diagnostic tool by selecting Start and Run then typing
dxdiag.
Make sure that the game's
minimum requirements are being met.
