Audio Issues

If your are experiencing audio issues such as no sound, garbled sound or poor sound quality follow the steps below.

 

Check your computer's speakers.  Is the volume turned up? Plugged in properly? etc.

 

Try adjusting the game's options.  Your game likely has an options menu where you can change audio settings. The detail settings in the game may need to be changed to match your computer better.

 

Ensure that your sound card's drivers are up to date.  Sound drivers are available from your card manufacturer's web site.  A list of manufacturers with links to their web sites can be found here.  To find out what type of card you have you can refer to the EA Help analysis or open the DirectX diagnostic tool by selecting Start and Run then typing dxdiag dxdiag.exe, or DirectX Diagnostic is a tool that will allow you to get important information about your computer..  More on updating drivers

 

Ensure that you have the latest version of DirectX installed.  Your game will have included the version of DirectX that it needs to run.  You can also obtain the latest version of DirectX at http://www.microsoft.com/directx/.

Try reinstalling DirectX:  In some cases the installation of DirectX could be corrupted or have errors.  Download and install a fresh copy of it from Microsoft's web site at http://www.microsoft.com/directx/.
